Dermatological Wounds
Dermatological wounds encompass a range of skin conditions that result from various causes, including injuries, infections, diseases, and even chronic conditions that affect the skin’s integrity. These wounds can vary widely in appearance and severity, from minor skin complaints to more complex ulcers caused by Cancer which require specialised care.
Dermatological wounds are often influenced by underlying health conditions, skin type, and environmental factors, making each case unique. Proper diagnosis and treatment are essential to address both the wound and its root cause, ensuring effective healing where possible and preventing recurrence.
Condition and Treatment:

Topical Ointments such as antibiotic creams or hydrating ointments to prevent infection and maintain moisture.

“The knowledge that the practitioners have in all aspects of my treatment is awe-inspiring. I thought I was dealing with doctors at first until Sarah explained to me that they were nurses with specialized training, in some cases earning advanced degrees. The fact that this an NHS facility is also interesting, given the negative state of the NHS given by the press and politicians. No doubt that applies to some parts of the NHS, but not for the Pioneer Centre. It is a truly impressive facility, and I am very happy to have such a centre in Eastbourne.”
